Assala Mostafa Hatem Nasri (Arabic: أصالة مصطفى حاتم نصري), known mononymously as Assala, is a celebrated Syrian singer whose illustrious career spans over three decades. Born on May 15, 1969 in Damascus, she started performing as young as four years old on children’s and patriotic programs, nurturing a lifelong passion for music that led to her professional debut in 1991 with the album Law Ta’rafou. Since then, she has released more than 20 studio albums, captivating audiences across the Arabic-speaking world with her powerful vocals and emotive style.

Assala is also known for cultural contributions beyond music. She hosted her own TV show, Soula, on Al Hayat TV and Dubai TV, welcoming musicians as if they were guests in her Cairo home. She served as a judge on the debut season of Saudi Idol in 2022, further engaging with the region’s music scene.
